To keep our children safe, we commit to:

• Providing a physically and emotionally safe environment for each child
• Preventing, detecting, and responding to any form of harmful conduct or abuse
• Empowering our children to participate in making decisions that affect them and share their concerns safely and respectfully
• Embedding trauma-informed approaches that respect our children’s dignity and emotional wellbeing

As a child safe organisation, we will:

• Educate all staff, volunteers, and stakeholders about child safety and their responsibilities to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and protection of each child in our care.
• Ensure staff, volunteers, visitors and stakeholders understand how to respond appropriately and compassionately to complaints, disclosures, and breaches of our Child Protection policy and Code of Conduct
• Welcome feedback from children, families, and staff and continuously improve our policies and practices based on the information they provide
• Honour the diverse cultures, languages, and lived experiences of our children and families, especially those from First Nations and CALD communities
• Communicate our child safety commitments in plain, easily understood language
• Review our policies and practices regularly so that these remain effective, inclusive, and aligned with current standards and legislation
• Hold leadership accountable for embedding child safety across all levels of governance and operations
