Our story

Search Light Inc. is not‑for‑profit, charitable organisation dedicated to improving the educational and life outcomes for children and young people. We believe that every child deserves the right to a quality early education that is accessible, inclusive, and tailored to their individual needs.

Our commitment goes beyond providing learning opportunities—we actively work to remove barriers to education, ensuring that all children and young families, regardless of their circumstances, can access the support and resources they need to thrive.

Our story began in 2001, as a small organisation, supporting the students of Southside Education (now Carinity Education Southside).  In 2004, we became an incorporated association and by 2005 we had opened a small crèche in a church hall, with grant funding from the Australia Government, to support the growing number of young mothers attending the school.

Today, we manage the Search Light Early Learning Centre, an approved early education service, located on the Carinity Education – Southside campus. Here, we provide inclusive early education, childcare, family support programs, and referral pathways designed specifically for young parents.

We continue to grow in response to community needs, partnering with community organisations and supported by Australian Government funding to deliver programs that help children thrive and families feel supported, connected, and empowered.
